Allows you to modify several preferences of the program and the default preferences used when creating a new data base. The main preference of the program is the setup of your cash and budget ( Income and Expense ) accounts.
On the left side of the window is a list of icons that allows you to select the category of preference to modify. The Preference Selection popup menu can also be used to select the category of preference to modify.
In the bottom portion of the window is five buttons:
Save:
Saves the preference settings as the program's default settings. The program's preference file will be updated. Several other program states are also saved.
Load:
Loads a preference file which becomes the new default preferences. The default preferences are loaded at startup which replaces the minimum preference settings.
Restore:
Loads the preference settings prior to opening the Preferences window for the displayed preferences.
Update:
Forces all windows to be updated to reflect changes made in the Preferences window without having to close the Preferences window.
OK:
Keeps your changes.
Cancel:
Ignores your changes. If you made any changes to your preferences, a dialog box will appear to confirm that you want to throw away your changes. If you decide not to throw them away, then the cancel request will be ignored.
Above the buttons and to the right of the selection list is the preference view.

Clicking the help button will show additional help about the selected preference category.
